今年、2022年3月11日に、米音楽イベントSXSW（サウス・バイ・サウス・ウェスト）で、シェリル・クロウの人生とキャリアを追ったドキュメンタリー・フィルム『Sheryl』がプレミア公開され、その後、米テレビネットワークSHOWTIME で放送された。ドキュメンタリーの監督はエイミー・スコット。内容は、性差別、年齢差別、うつ病、がん、名声の代償と戦いながら才能を発揮していく、シェリルの音楽キャリアを追った物語。

このドキュメンタリーから 35曲を収録したアルバム『シェリル：ミュージック・フロム・ザ・フィーチャー・ドキュメンタリー』が、5月6日にリリースされた。
「イフ・イット・メイクス・ユー・ハッピー」「ソーク・アップ・ザ・サン」「オール・アイ・ワナ・ドゥ」などの世界的大ヒット・シングルやライヴ・トラック、『スレッズ』(2019)収録の豪華ゲストとのデュエット曲、未発表ライヴ音源1曲、そして新曲も3曲収録されており、新曲の中から『フォーエヴァー』（Forever）のミュージックビデオが公開されている。
